It has taken ten years for Dr. Yunus to build the Grameen Bank and make it be a successful microfinance institution(MFI) since the disbursement of the first loan to a group. Grameen Bank, with the history of thirty years, has been keeping on adjusting its management in accordance with new situations and customers' changing needs.
With the development over ten years, microfinance in China has also made great progress. Although many problems still exist, the central government has given definite support to microfinance. It is our firm belief that by virtue of the International Year for Microfinance 2005, microfinance in China will achieve a remarkable growth in the coming two or three years.
