The Second Session of Board Meeting of Executive Directors for International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC) was held in the afternoon of 28 February 2007 in Beijing . Mr. Yi Xiaozhun, Vice Minister of Commerce attended the Meeting as the Vice Chairman of Executive Board of IPRCC and delivered a speech at the session. Mr. Wang Yue, Director General of the China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges (CICETE) also attended the Meeting as the member of Executive Directors of IPRCC. The Meeting reviewed and adopted the revised versions of The Strategic Positioning and Development Plan (2006-2010) for the International Poverty Reduction in China and The Charter for International Poverty Reduction in China .

The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Liu Jian, Director General of the Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation China and Development under the State Council, and was attended by the members of the Board Executive Directors from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the China Association for International Exchanges and etc. Some international organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), World Bank Institute, Asian Development Bank and UK Department for International Development China were also present at the Board Meeting. The founding of IPRCC is an important contribution of the Chinese Government to the cause of world poverty reduction. As the cooperation partner of UNDP in China and the competent authority responsible for executing foreign-assistance programs, the Ministry of Commerce always attaches great importance and gives strong supports to the founding of IPRCC. CICETE is one of the initiating organizations for IPRCC and has facilitated a project from UNDP with the total budget of six million USD, which laid a solid foundation for the future development of IPRCC. .
