China Environmental Awareness Programme (CEAP), jointly signed by UNDP, China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges (CICETE), MOFCOM and SEPA, was launched in 2006. The primary objective of CEAP is to communicate environmental knowledge, to raise the public's environmental awareness and to convert the knowledge into a change in behavior towards environmental protection. Under this mandate, CEAP will support a series of visible and innovative national and local awareness campaigns targeting the youth, rural and urban residents. The campaigns will consist of public service announcements (PSAs), films, TV shows, performances, speeches, training as well as goodwill ambassadors to help disseminate information through TV, print, radio, internet and mobile telephones.

An important activity of the national awareness campaigns will be designing and producing environmental awareness TV PSAs. 10 PSAs on environmental awareness will be designed and produced linked to the Beijing 2008 Olympics' Green Olympics campaign. Each PSA will last up to 30 seconds. The PSA will be broadcasted on Chinese television throughout the project implementation period and in Olympic venues during the Beijing Olympic Games.
