The eighth conference of CICETE's microfinance program was organized in Zhengzhou City of Henan Province on March 24 – 25. More than 70 delegates from 30 microfinance institutes attend the conference. Ms. Wang Weili, the Deputy Director General of CICETE made speech and delivered awards to the outstanding staffs of China Community Corps (CCC, the loan officer) and managers.

CICETE has been implementing a large microcredit program of UNDP assistance for more than 10 years since 1994. The program covers 48 poor counties and 4 big cities. The first conference was organized in 1998 after the establishment of the Sport and Coordination Office (SCO) of the program.

On this year's conference, beside the workshop of exchanging the experiences of microcredit management, CICETE arranged a training course of financial education. A gallery of project pictures was also shown on the conference and awards were given to the best pictures.

CICETE requires all the microfinance institutes to insist the performance of microfinance and prepare for the commercialization in the future.
