UN High-Level Symposium for Development Cooperation Forum was held in Cairo, Egypt from 19th -20th of January 2008. Focusing on aid effectiveness, South-South Cooperation and Triangular Cooperation, the symposium aims to prepare for the first World Development Cooperation Forum to be held in New York in 2008.
　　Mr. Wang Yue, Director-General of CICETE-MOFCOM, delivered a keynote speech at the symposium as the Head of the Chinese Delegation. He briefed the participants on China’s achievement and positive role played in SSC, trade & investment as well as China’s assistance to foreign countries. He also responded properly to questions raised by representatives from the other countries, which won unanimous praise of all participants.
　　H.E. Madam Asha-Rose Migiro, UN Deputy Director General, Mr. Leo Mores, President of UNECOSOC, Mr. Sha Zukang, Under Secretary General of UNDESA, Mr. Supachai Panitchpakdi, Secretary-General, UNCTAD, and several ministers participated in the symposium.
The Chinese Delegation was composed of personnel from the Foreign Aid Department, International Department and CICETE of the Ministry of Commerce of China..
