The Launching Ceremony of China Association of Trade in Services (CATIS) was held in Shanghai on November 27, 2007. Vice Premier Wuyi sent congratulation letter to the ceremony and Vice Minister of Commerce Yi Xiaozhun attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.

With the support of Ministry of Commerce, CATIS was initiated and set up by CICETE and related companies. It has 92 members currently covering mainly in the area of trade in services, such as transportation, consultation, education, tourism and computer science and etc. Mr. Wei Jiafu, Executive President and CEO of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO) was elected as the Chairman of CATIS, Mr. Zhao Zhongyi, Vice Director General of CICETE as the Standing Vice Chairman of CATIS.
