Co-organized by CICETE, UNDP and International Poverty Reduction Center in China , the Training for UNDP Programme Local Counterparts was held successfully in Beijing during September 5-7, 2007. Mr. Wang Yue, Director General of CICETE addressed the opening ceremony. Mr. Wang Guoliang, Deputy Director General of Poverty Alleviation Office of State Council, Mr. Kahalid Malik, Resident Representative of UNDP and Mr. Huang Chengwei, Deputy Director General also showed their presences at the training and delivered speeches.

The objectives of the training was to improve the abilities in the poverty reduction fields for the managers working for poverty reduction program in international organizations led by United Nations and local managers in charge of international poverty reduction programs, so as to further strengthen the program executing ability and contribute to the undertaking of poverty reduction in China. The training programs were given by the leaders from related ministries and research institutes and over 60 managers responsible for UNDP programs participated in the training.
