The Programme Signing Ceremony for "Strengthening Volunteerism for Development in China through the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games" was held successfully in the headquarter of the Beijing Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games( BOCOG) in the morning of 25 July 2007. Mr. Wang Yue, Director-General of CICETE, Mr. Ad de Raad, Executive Coordinator of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV), Mr. Subinay Nandy, Country Director of UNDP, and Mr. Liu Jian, Secretary-General of Beijing Committee of the China Communist Youth League (BCCCYL), Director-General of Beijing Olympic Games Volunteer Work Coordination Group Office and Director-General of Volunteers Department of BOCOG, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. All the programme partners expressed their intentions for further close cooperation during the programme implementation and their willingness of promoting the development of volunteer service in China through the excellent opportunity of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. After the signing ceremony, the programme partners received interviews from local media.
