International WS on NSR Regional Cooperation was held from 21 through 22, Oct, 2002 in Lianyungang, Jiangsu province, organized by MOFTEC, Ministry of Railways and Jiansu provincial government, chaired by Minister Long Yongtu of MOFTEC, and participated by the representatives from SETC, MOR, MOFTEC, MOFA, MOC, MOF, MOST, MOLR, GAC, SEPA, CICETE, UNDP, CACs, Japan, ROK and Finland. Mayors and representatives from NSR alongside cities, Longhai-Lanxin Promotion Council, China Association of International Forwarders, and China Foreign Transport Group were also among the participants.

Through heated discussions and in-depth analysis of transportation along NSR region, consensus was made on the following aspects:
· Priorities in the following years;
· Strengthening capacity building of the bridge heads cities in the east, and making
　them a showcase for central and western regions;
· Setting up partnership between Coordinating Mechanism with local
　governments and enterprises.

The WS was a great success, to which CICETE, as one of the main sponsors of the project, has contributed not only organizing and coordinating competence, but a strong and highly efficient task force. Mr Sun Yongfu, DG of CICETE, Mr, Zhaoyongli, Division Chief of TCDC, Mr. Wangwei and Ms Zhangwei, POs of CICETE, were convincing evidence.
