11-25 October 2009, Beijing - The Bangladesh PKSF Delegation on Agriculture, consisted of 14 managers and working staff, conducted a study tour in China. CICETE received the delegation and made arrangement for their visit. Both sides exchanged views on microfinance and poverty alleviation. Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) is a well-known microfinance funding and capacity building organization in Bangladesh for reducing poverty by providing microcredit to the poor and local microfinance institutions.

During the visit, the delegation listened lectures by many Chinese agriculture experts including Prof. Du Xiaoshan from Deputy Director of Rural Development Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Dr. Huang Chengwei from International Poverty Reduction Centrein China (IPRCC) and learned on China's successful experiences on agricultural products processing industry, reform process and poverty alleviation, and the development of microfinance in China. The delegation also had field trips to Beijing, Inner Mongolia, Shanghai and Yunnan.

The PKSF delegation expressed their sincere gratitude to CICETE for all the thoughtful arrangement. This visit enabled the delegation to learn on the agriculture development in China and promoted the exchanges and cooperation in the fields of agriculture and poverty alleviation between China and Bangladesh.
