
DDG Dong Hong Attending the Launching Ceremony of Beijing Olympic & Paralympics Volunteering Legacy Research Report

In order to celebrate the International Volunteers Day(Dec.5), the launching ceremony of Beijing Olympic & Paralympics Volunteering Legacy Research Report was organized in the Gold Hall of the National Sports Stadium ( Bird Nest) on 4 December 2009. CICETE Deputy Director General Dong Hong was present at the ceremony and delivered a speech. The ceremony was hosted by Ms. Deng Yaping, Deputy Secretary General of Beijing Youth League. Mr. Khalid Malik, Executive Coordinator of UN agencies in China and Resident Representative of UNDP in China, Mr. Napoleon Navarro, UNDP Deputy Country Director, and Mr. Ghulam Isaczai, UNV Chief of Programme Development & Operations Group (PDOG), as well as other international organizations, NGOs, experts and volunteers participated in the ceremony.
The “Experience, Value, Influence- a Report on Volunteer Operations of Beijing Olympic & Paralympics Games” has both Chinese and English version, the content of which includes the introduction of Beijing Olympic volunteers management work, the value and influence of Beijing Olympic volunteering work, as well as the experience and conclusion of Beijing Olympic volunteering work. Through in-depth investigations and analysis, the expert team has come out with this series of books, covering the management experiences on volunteer recruitment, training, encouragement, and insurance, etc. The books which are the important output of Beijing Olympic legacy transfer and the joint project have made a great contribution to the national and international volunteering work.
